Local law enforcement will provide current information regarding crime activity in your area at the Neighborhood Watch meetings. However, a Block Watch can be established before a crime problem occurs in a neighborhood. Participating in a Bock Watch provides many benefits above and beyond preventing crime.

What does a Block Captain do?
Block Captains serve as the primary contact for their neighborhood. They encourage reporting of suspicious activity, welcome new residents to the area, and organize regular NW meetings for residents to discuss particular topics such as theft prevention, home security, and crime reporting as well as any changes observed in the neighborhood.
